What Are Motor Mounts?
Motor mounts are parts that secure the engine and, in some cases, the transmission to the vehicle's frame. Typically constructed from a combination of rubber and metal, they are designed to provide a strong anchor for the engine while dampening vibrations and reducing noise that would otherwise be felt inside the cabin. The rubber element in the motor mount acts as an insulator, preventing excessive vibration and maintaining a smooth driving experience.
How Do Motor Mounts Work?
Motor mounts are strategically positioned to hold the engine securely in place while allowing a limited amount of flexibility. The rubber or polyurethane in the mount absorbs and dampens the engine's vibrations as it runs.
